The Mitutoyo 7301A is a Series 7 dial thickness gauge. The material is placed between the anvil and the spring-loaded contact and the thickness is read directly from the analogue dial, with no battery and nothing to switch on.
Range is 0 to 10 mm with 0.01 mm graduation and ±0.015 mm accuracy, and the throat allows measurement up to 30 mm from the edge of the piece. The contacts are ceramic discs, which suit thin, soft and easily marked material.
It is used for thickness checks on sheet, film, paper and gasket material, on washers and small flat parts, and on tube wall sections, in production QC, stores inspection and maintenance. Where readings must be logged electronically, the Digimatic version of the same gauge should be specified instead.
