DG-10 Air Blow Gun with Extension Nozzle

An air blow gun is a hand-held valve with a nozzle. Squeezing the trigger lifts a spring-loaded poppet off its seat and passes supply air to the nozzle; releasing it closes the valve. The gun shown is the DG-10 pattern in die-cast metal with a lever trigger, a hose tail at the base of the handle, and a screwed nozzle so the outlet can be changed. Two nozzles are supplied - a short one fitted to the gun and a long straight extension for reaching inside recesses, blind bores and machine guards.

Typical use is clearing swarf and coolant from a workpiece or a fixture between operations, drying parts after washing, and clearing dust from panels, filters and assemblies. The gun is normally fed from the workshop air line through the FRL set, and a quick coupling on the hose tail lets it be swapped between drops.

Blow guns deserve more care than they usually get. Compressed air directed at skin can force air into tissue, and debris blown off a workpiece travels fast and unpredictably, so eye protection is required for the operator and for anyone nearby. ISO 4414, the general safety standard for pneumatic systems, is the applicable framework. Never point the gun at a person, never use it to blow dust off clothing, and check that the nozzle is not blocked or damaged before use.

When ordering, specify the inlet connection - hose tail size or the thread and coupling profile wanted - and the nozzle type. Note that air coupling profiles are not mutually compatible: a 1/4" plug is a 1/4" thread, but the nose geometry is what decides whether it will lock into the workshop socket, so confirm the profile in use on site before ordering guns with couplings fitted.
