Description
The Janatics DS2 manually operated valves are spool-type directional control valves worked by hand rather than by a solenoid. The same valve body is offered with three actuators: a hand lever, a push-pull knob, and a panel-mounting button, so a machine builder can put the operator control on the panel face and the valve directly behind it.
Function is selected by the ordering number. The 3/2 valves are supplied normally open or normally closed and are used to start, stop or vent a single air line or a single-acting cylinder. The 5/2 valves reverse a double-acting cylinder. The 5/3 valves add a centre position which is blocked, exhausted or energised depending on the variant, and are held either by a detent or returned to centre by springs. Detent versions stay where they are put; spring return versions come back to the rest position when the lever is released.
Port size sets the flow the valve will pass: G1/8 flows 450 l/min at a maximum 8 bar, G1/4 flows 1200 l/min and G1/2 flows 3500 l/min, both rated to 10 bar, all measured at 6 bar inlet with 1 bar pressure drop. The bodies are aluminium with nitrile seals, brass and acetal internals, and every size carries a mounting provision for the individual unit and is suitable for panel mounting.
When ordering, state the function (3/2, 5/2 or 5/3), the actuator (hand lever, push-pull or panel button), whether spring return, detent or spring centred is wanted, and the port size. The air must be dry, filtered and lubricated; Janatics specifies ISO VG32 oil for the lubricator feeding these valves.
