The DK-Lok DK20N is a high pressure nipple: a length of heavy-wall 316 stainless steel tube with a coned and threaded male port at each end. It is used to extend a medium pressure tubing run, to bridge between two connectors, or to make up a short rigid link where a bent tube would be awkward to route or to support.
Sealing is by the cone-and-thread principle, in which the coned end of the nipple is drawn metal-to-metal against the matching seat in the gland, so no soft seal is carried in the joint. The unit is rated to 20,000 psig. The tube is 14.29 mm outside diameter on a 3.18 mm wall, giving a 7.92 mm bore and a flow area of 49.03 mm².
Typical duties are chemical injection systems, high pressure test systems, hydraulic and instrumentation lines, and subsea and process service.
