Description
The 2W-SL series is a two-way solenoid valve whose body is moulded from PA66 polyamide instead of being cast in brass. It is semi-direct acting: the coil lifts the pilot seat and the main diaphragm together, so the valve opens at zero differential pressure and can be used on gravity tanks, low-head irrigation and dosing lines. Larger sizes carry an inlet filter to keep grit out of the pilot passage, which is the part that blocks first on open-water duty.
A polyamide body is specified where a brass one would corrode or contaminate: demineralised and softened water, mild acids and alkalis, and washdown environments where the outside of the valve is hosed. It is also markedly lighter, which matters on a manifold of several valves carried on the pipework alone.
Sizes run G1/2" (2W-15SLN) to G2" (2W-50SLN), orifices 15 to 50 mm, Cv 4.8 to 48. Working pressure is 0-7 bar in the smaller sizes on 220 V AC, falling to 0-6 bar at G1.1/4" and above and lower again on DC or in the normally open build - the coil pull sets the ceiling, so the figure must be read against the supply and the function being ordered. Fluid temperature is -10 to +80 °C with NBR seals and ambient -20 to +65 °C.
When ordering, state size, NC or NO, thread form (G or NPT), seal material and coil voltage, and confirm the fluid is compatible with polyamide and NBR. Where the line is exposed to sunlight, check that the valve body and any plastic pipework around it are rated for it.
