Pu Tube Inner Braided

Braid-Reinforced Polyurethane (PU) Air Hose

Polyurethane air hose with a textile braid embedded in the wall. The braid takes the pressure load so the hose holds a higher working pressure than plain PU tube of the same bore while staying flexible and light.

Description

This is polyurethane hose built in three layers: an inner PU tube, a textile braid laid over it, and an outer PU cover extruded on top so the braid is sealed inside the wall rather than exposed. The braid is what carries the hoop stress, so the hose holds a working pressure that plain extruded PU tube of the same bore could not, while the polyurethane keeps the flexibility, the light weight and the abrasion resistance that make PU worth using in the first place.

It is the usual choice for compressed-air drops to hand tools, blow guns and portable equipment, and for air lines that are dragged across a floor, coiled and uncoiled daily, or run where a plain tube would chafe through. Polyurethane resists abrasion and kinking far better than rubber of the same weight and stays flexible in cold, and the braid stops the hose ballooning under pressure.

Ends are made off with hose tails and clamps or with reusable fittings, and an air line of this type is normally finished with a quick coupling at the tool end. Where the hose is pressurised and disconnected regularly, remember that a coupling releasing under pressure lets the hose whip; a whip-check restraint across the joint is the standard mitigation, and couplings with a pressure-relief step on disconnection exist for the same reason.

When ordering, quote the bore and the outside diameter, the colour, and the length. Ask the supplier for the working pressure at the temperature the line will actually see rather than the headline figure, because the pressure rating of any polyurethane hose falls sharply as it warms, and confirm the fitting type wanted on each end.
