Description

The clamp is a split saddle closed by two hex bolts around the tube, carried on a threaded stud or leg that fixes to a wall, a frame or a floor stand. Its job is to carry the weight of the line, hold the spacing between supports and set the fall so that the line drains — which in hygienic pipework is a cleaning requirement, not a convenience.

It is important to be clear about what this item is not. It is not a coupling and it is not the clamp ring of a clamp connection. It makes no joint, contains no gasket and holds no pressure. The clamp ring that closes a DIN 32676 or ISO 2852 clamp joint is a different item, listed separately in this catalogue.

Because it is a support and not a fitting, it is sized on the actual outside diameter of the tube it has to hold, not on a DN label. That distinction matters in the DIN system, where DN25 tube is 29 mm outside diameter and DN50 is 53 mm, and it matters more when SMS or ASME BPE tube is in the same plant at 25.0 mm or 25.40 mm for the same nominal inch.

State the tube outside diameter in millimetres, the mounting form — stud, base plate or channel — the material, and whether a rubber or plastic insert is wanted to isolate the line thermally or against vibration. Stainless steel to AISI 304 (1.4301) is normal for a support; 316L is specified where the support itself sits in a wash-down or chloride-bearing environment.
