Itap

ITAP S.p.A. has made brass valves, fittings and manifolds for plumbing and heating at Lumezzane in the Brescia valley since 1972. Three ITAP articles are listed here, all full-bore brass ball valves with a nickel-plated CW617N body, chrome-plated ball, PTFE seats and NBR and Viton O-rings. Art. 090 is the Ideal valve, female/female with a red steel lever, 1/4 inch to 4 inch, rated 50 bar in the smallest sizes and falling to 14 bar at 4 inch, for -20 to +150 C. Art. 091 is the same valve in male/female, 1/4 inch to 2 inch. Art. 070 is the Berlin valve, female/female with a yellow lever, approved to EN 331 under DVGW certificate NG-4312BN7046 and rated 5 bar from 1/2 inch to 2 inch. The lever colour is the quickest way to tell them apart on site - red for water and heating, yellow for the EN 331 range - and the two ranges are not interchangeable, because the valve's pressure and temperature limits are far lower. Threads are ISO 228 parallel on the Ideal range, with NPT available to order, and ISO 7/1 Rp on the valve up to 2 inch.
