Description
Article 091 is the male/female member of ITAP's IDEAL full-flow ball valve range. It is mechanically the same valve as the female/female 090 — nickel-plated CW617N brass body and end adapter, chrome-plated CW617N ball, CW614N brass stem, PTFE seats, one NBR and one Viton O-ring, red varnished steel lever — but one end is a male thread, which saves a socket or nipple where the valve lands directly on a fitting.
Threads are to ISO 228. The size range stops at 2" (DN 50): unlike article 090, there is no 2"1/2, 3" or 4" version and therefore no aluminium-lever variant. Maximum working pressure is 50 bar from 1/4" to 1/2", 40 bar from 3/4" to 1", 30 bar at 1"1/4 and 1"1/2, and 25 bar at 2". Kv runs from 3,45 m³/h at 1/4" to 169 m³/h at 2".
The temperature range is -20 °C to +150 °C in the absence of steam, and the valve is bi-directional and full bore. ITAP lists the applications as domestic water services, heating and air-conditioning plant, and compressed air systems.
State the size on order. Where both ends must be female, use article 090; the T-handle equivalents are 092 (F/F) and 093 (M/F). ITAP publishes no NPT option for article 091. For that duty use ITAP's BERLIN range to EN 331 — the IDEAL range is not approved to EN 331.
