Description
The ITAP 993G is a normally open solenoid safety valve for lines built to EN 331. The valve is opened by hand by pushing the reset knob under the body upward - ITAP's instructions distinguish the two forms: pull the reset knob on the 550 mbar valves, push it upward on the 6 bar valves - and is then held open electrically; when the 230 V supply to the coil is interrupted the spring closes the valve in less than one second. Because the valve fails closed on loss of power, it is the shut-off element normally wired to the relay output of a leak detector, to a safety thermostat or to an emergency stop.
The body is brass with female ISO 228 parallel threads and is offered from 1/2" to 2" (DN 15 to DN 50). Maximum working pressure is 6 bar across the whole size range. The coil is rated 230 V a.c., 17 VA / 19 W, enclosure IP65, and the valve is approved under Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU — the CE 0497 notified body number appears on the coil label of the item photographed.
ITAP also lists article 993M, which is the same valve limited to 550 mbar. The two are not interchangeable on a higher-pressure supply, so state the article as well as the size when ordering, together with the thread form and the detector or control the valve will be wired to.
