Description
The 090 is ITAP's IDEAL full-flow ball valve in the female/female configuration. The body and end adapter are nickel-plated CW617N brass, the ball is chrome-plated CW617N, the stem is CW614N brass, the seats are PTFE and the valve is sealed by one NBR and one Viton O-ring. Operation is a quarter turn on a varnished red steel lever in sizes 1/4" to 2", and a varnished aluminium lever from 2"1/2 to 4".
The valve is full flow: the ball bore equals the nominal bore in every size except 1/4", where the bore is 10 mm. Threads are parallel to ISO 228, and ITAP also offers an NPT thread option from 1/4" to 2". The valve is bi-directional, so it may be installed either way round.
Maximum working pressure falls with size: 50 bar from 1/4" to 1/2", 40 bar from 3/4" to 1", 30 bar at 1"1/4 and 1"1/2, 25 bar at 2", 18 bar at 2"1/2, 16 bar at 3" and 14 bar at 4". The temperature range is -20 °C to +150 °C in the absence of steam. Kv runs from 3,45 m³/h at 1/4" to 725 m³/h at 4". ITAP lists the applications as domestic water services, heating and air-conditioning plant, and compressed air systems.
When ordering, state the size and whether ISO 228 parallel or NPT threads are required. Article 090 is the female/female lever valve; the male/female version is article 091, the T-handle versions are 092 and 093, and 099 is male/male. For that duty use ITAP's Berlin range to EN 331 instead — the IDEAL range is not approved to EN 331.
