Description

Canvas hose is a lay-flat water delivery hose: a woven textile jacket with an elastomeric lining, which flattens when empty so that long lengths coil compactly and store in a fraction of the space a round hose needs. It has no helix and no rigid wall, so it is a delivery hose only - put it on the suction side of a pump and it will collapse.

The usual duty is site water distribution, dewatering discharge, irrigation and washdown, where the hose is laid out for a shift and recovered afterwards. It is supplied as a cut length or a coil and coupled by the buyer, normally with a nipple and a band or bolt clamp, or with quick-release couplings where the line is moved often. Because the jacket is textile, it is dragged rather than rolled at its own risk: abrasion on concrete is the usual cause of failure.

No public ISO or EN specification covers general-purpose canvas lay-flat hose, and no manufacturer's data sheet has been obtained for this item, so no working pressure, burst pressure, size range, coil length or temperature figure is stated here. Those must come from the supplier's own data. Fire-fighting hose is a separate product governed by its own standards and approvals, and this hose must not be substituted for it.
