Description
The product shown for this item is a galvanised steel interlock hose: a strip of galvanised steel rolled into a helix so that each turn hooks into the next, producing a flexible tube that resists crushing and abrasion and holds its shape when bent. Interlock hose is used for exhaust and hot air ducting, chip and swarf conveying, cable and hose protection, and as an over-sleeve on lines exposed to mechanical damage.
An interlocked strip-wound hose is not a pressure-tight corrugated metal hose within the meaning of EN ISO 10380, which defines a corrugated metal hose as pressure-tight and formed by corrugating tube or strip. An unpacked interlock hose leaks at the seam by design, and no working pressure is claimed for it here. Where a liquid- or vapour-tight flexible metal line is required, the correct product is the braided corrugated stainless assembly covered by that standard.
Confirm the intended duty before ordering. State the bore, the length, whether a packed (sealed) or unpacked construction is required, the strip material and finish, and the end termination - interlock hose is normally supplied plain-ended and terminated by the fabricator.
