The MDC-MX Series is a Digimatic outside micrometer sealed to IP65, intended for measurement in machining areas where coolant and cutting oil are present. Outside diameters, thicknesses and turned features are measured between the anvil and the spindle, and the value is read from an LCD to 0.001 mm.
A ratchet stop sets the measuring force, so successive readings by different operators agree instead of varying with how hard the thimble is turned. The measuring faces are carbide tipped and resist the wear that flat steel faces suffer in daily production use. The display reads in metric or inch.
Two ranges are supplied: 293-340-30 covers 0 to 25 mm / 0 to 1 inch and 293-341-30 covers 25 to 50 mm / 1 to 2 inch, the latter with a setting standard for its range. Both come with a certificate of inspection, operating instructions and an SR44 battery.
Outside micrometers read one 25 mm band each, so when ordering state every diameter band that has to be covered; a full workshop set is built up from consecutive ranges.
