Description
A DIN 3015 clamp holds hydraulic tube and pipe off a structure on a polymer body split into two halves. The body damps vibration and isolates the tube from the steelwork, which is what stops chafe and fatigue cracking at supports. A cover plate and two hex bolts close it, and the whole clamp mounts on a weld plate, a rail or a bolt-on adaptor.
The standard runs in three parts and each part is a size class: Part 1 the standard or light series, to 102 mm outside diameter; Part 2 the heavy series, to 450 mm; Part 3 the twin series, to 42 mm. A clamp is ordered by tube outside diameter, not by nominal bore - a 22 mm clamp takes 22 mm tube whatever its wall.
Body material decides the service range. STAUFF, whose data is public, publishes -30 to +90 degrees C continuous for polypropylene bodies, with +110 short term, and -40 to +120 degrees C continuous for polyamide, with +140 short term; polyamide also carries the better UV and weather resistance, which matters outdoors in Kuwait. Flame retardant grades classified to UL 94 exist in both materials; standard PP and PA are not flame retardant. Metal parts are offered in carbon steel or in V2A and V4A stainless.
State at order: tube outside diameter, series, body material, mounting hardware and whether stainless fixings or a flame retardant body are required.
