Description

A poppet is held on its seat by a spring inside a machined hexagonal body. Forward pressure lifts the poppet and the valve passes flow; when the pressure falls or reverses the spring and the reverse pressure reseat it. Because closure is by spring, the valve works in any mounting attitude, and it is short enough to screw straight into a port or between two adaptors.

The unit photographed has female threads at both ends and the fluid-power check-valve symbol laser-marked on a flat of the body, which is what identifies the flow direction. No manufacturer name, part number, pressure rating or thread designation is legible on it.

Because of that, the working pressure is not stated here: 'high pressure' in the product name is not a figure and nothing on the valve quantifies it. Before it is quoted into a hydraulic circuit, get the working pressure, cracking pressure, thread form and seal material from the supplier in writing, and specify the thread explicitly — BSP parallel (ISO 228-1) and NPT (ASME B1.20.1) will start into one another and then leak.
