Description
The WIKA DSS10T and DSS34T are pressure sensors mounted to a threaded diaphragm seal, for aggressive, hot, corrosive, contaminated, environmentally hazardous or toxic media. The diaphragm separates the instrument from the process and the pressure is transmitted through the system fill fluid. They are used in chemical and petrochemical plant, water treatment and general process industry.
Both models offer gauge ranges 0…1 to 0…60 bar [0…15 to 0…1,000 psi] and vacuum and compound ranges -1…+5, -1…+9 and -1…+10 bar, with a 4…20 mA two-wire output on a DC 8…35 V supply and accuracy at reference conditions of ≤ ±0.5 % of span. Pressure limitation is three times the range below 10 bar and twice the range at and above 10 bar.
The wetted diaphragm is stainless steel 1.4435 [316L] or Hastelloy C276 for more aggressive media; the case is stainless steel 1.4571 [316Ti] and the system fill fluid is silicone oil KN 2 for general applications. Process connection is a direct thread, G½ or ½ NPT. Permissible medium temperature is -10…+150 °C [14…302 °F], ambient 10…40 °C, and ingress protection is IP65 per IEC/EN 60529.
The difference between the two is construction. The DSS10T uses a threaded (screwed together) design, so the lower body can be exchanged — for instance to change the process connection — without altering the diaphragm-seal system. The DSS34T uses an all-welded design for a permanent seal. When ordering, state the model, the scale range, the process connection and the diaphragm material.
