Description
The WIKA DSS18T and DSS19T are pressure sensors welded to a diaphragm seal, for hygienic pressure measurement in the food and beverage industry. The stainless steel diaphragm isolates the sensor from the product and the pressure is transmitted through the system fill fluid. They are used on aggressive, adhesive, crystallising and highly viscous media, and on process steps such as filtration, separation, pasteurisation and filling.
Both models share the same measuring performance: gauge ranges 0…1 to 0…25 bar [0…15 to 0…300 psi], vacuum and compound ranges -1…+5, -1…+9 and -1…+10 bar, a 4…20 mA two-wire output on a DC 8…35 V supply, and accuracy at reference conditions of ≤ ±0.5 % of span. The wetted diaphragm is stainless steel 1.4435 [316L], the case is 1.4571 [316Ti], wetted surface roughness is Ra ≤ 0.76 µm [30 µin] per ASME BPE SF3 except at the weld seam, and the system fill fluid is medicinal white mineral oil KN 92.
The two models differ only in the process connection. The DSS18T uses a milk thread fitting following DIN 11851 in DN 25, DN 40 and DN 50 for pipes per DIN 11850 row 2, and carries an EHEDG hygienic-design approval. The DSS19T uses a threaded connection following Svensk Standard SS 1145 in 1½" and 2".
The all-welded construction withstands sterilisation in place, with permissible medium temperature 10…80 °C rising to a maximum of 130 °C — for CIP and SIP on the DSS18T, and for SIP on the DSS19T, which is all DS 95.22 states. When ordering, state the model, the scale range, the process connection and pipe dimension, and any required certificates.
