Description
The WIKA model HP-2 is a pressure sensor built for the highest pressure ranges. Measuring ranges run from 0…1,600 bar to 0…15,000 bar [0…23,000 to 0…217,500 psi], with overload safety and burst pressure tabulated for each range — for example 15,500 bar overload and 16,000 bar burst on the 0…15,000 bar range. Typical duties are test benches, water-jet cutting and high-pressure cleaning.
Maximum measured error is ≤ ±0.5 % of span, with an optional ≤ ±0.25 % for ranges up to and including 0…10,000 bar; on the 0…12,000 and 0…15,000 bar ranges ≤ ±0.5 % of span is typical. Long-term stability is ≤ 0.1 % of span per year. Output is 4…20 mA two-wire, DC 0…5 V or DC 0…10 V three-wire, or a USB 2.0 digital output adjusted through WIKA's EasyCom 2011 software.
Three versions are offered: the HP-2-S standard sensor; the HP-2-D fitted with DIPS, a diaphragm impact protection system that guards against cavitation and micro-diesel effects and which WIKA particularly recommends for water; and the HP-2-E fitted with EPC, an exchangeable pressure connection that allows the process connection to be changed without replacing the whole sensor, recommended where hairline cracks can occur. Wetted parts are stainless steel 1.4534. Medium temperature is 0…+80 °C and ambient -20…+80 °C.
When ordering, state the measuring range, the accuracy option, the process connection — M16 × 1.5 or 9/16-18 UNF female to 7,000 bar, M20 × 1.5 female to 15,000 bar, all with a 60° sealing cone — the output signal, and whether the DIPS version is required. Note that the permissible pressure at the installation point also depends on the high-pressure pipework used.
