Description
The WIKA PGT23 intelliGAUGE combines a mechanical Bourdon tube pressure gauge with integrated electronic signal processing. The pointer is driven mechanically, so the process pressure can still be read on site if the supply voltage is lost, while an electronic angle encoder - non-contact, and therefore free of wear and friction - determines the pointer shaft position and generates the output signal.
The instrument is based on WIKA's model 23x.30 stainless steel safety gauge and is built to EN 837-1 with an S3 safety case: solid baffle wall and blow-out back. The case is stainless steel 1.4301 (304), the window laminated safety glass or polycarbonate, and the wetted process connection and Bourdon tube are stainless steel 1.4404 (316L). WIKA names the chemical and petrochemical industries, hydrocarbon processing, power generation and water and wastewater as the applications.
Nominal sizes are 100 and 160 mm with scale ranges of 0 ... 0.6 to 0 ... 1,600 bar (0 ... 10 to 0 ... 30,000 psi). The mechanical indication is accuracy class 1.0 per EN 837-3; the output signal is accurate to +/-1 % of span with a linearity error of no more than 1 % by the terminal method. Four output variants are offered: 4 ... 20 mA 2-wire passive per NAMUR NE 43, 4 ... 20 mA 2-wire for hazardous areas, 0 ... 20 mA 3-wire and 0 ... 10 V 3-wire.
Ingress protection is IP54 for unfilled instruments and IP65 or IP66 otherwise - case filling with silicone oil M50 raises it to IP65. When ordering, specify nominal size, scale range, process connection, output variant and supply voltage, and note that the NS 63 instrument is a different model, PGT23.063, covered by data sheet PV 12.03.
