Description
Sunny blue hose is a soft PVC lay-flat water discharge hose reinforced with synthetic yarn. It flattens when empty, coils compactly and is used for irrigation, site water distribution, dewatering discharge and washdown. It is a discharge hose: the manufacturer states plainly that it is not a suction hose, and it will collapse if fitted to the suction side of a pump.
The SUNNYHOSE name belongs to Sunny Hose Company Limited of Hong Kong, which publishes four lines of this hose - SUNNYHOSE, HI SUNNYHOSE, HEAVY DUTY SUNNYHOSE and SUNNY JAPAN - distinguished by wall thickness and working pressure rather than by any part number. No part number exists: a product is identified by line name plus nominal bore, written for example as "HI SUNNYHOSE 50 (2)". Working pressure, wall thickness and weight differ between the lines at the same bore, so both the line name and the bore are needed to specify the hose.
Three of the four lines are blue and only the heavy-duty line is red, so colour alone does not identify the line. The manufacturer's stated temperature range for water service is -10 to +60 °C, working pressures are quoted at 20 °C, and the standard supply is a 100 m coil with 10, 20, 30 and 50 m coils available on request.
Couplings are not supplied with the hose; specify the bore, the coil length and the clamp or coupling pattern separately. Keep coils out of direct sunlight in storage.
