Description
The Victaulic Style 107V QuickVic Installation-Ready rigid coupling joins roll-grooved or cut-grooved pipe, grooved fittings, valves and accessories. The two-segment ductile-iron housing arrives assembled with the gasket in place; it is pushed onto the pipe ends without being taken apart, and the two bolts are tightened until the pads meet metal to metal. The angled bolt pads produce a rigid joint that restricts both axial and angular movement, so the line can be supported and braced as rigid pipe under ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.9.
The published range is 2 to 12 inch / DN50 to DN300 on carbon steel and stainless steel pipe. Maximum working pressure runs from full vacuum (760 mm Hg) up to 750 psi / 5171 kPa depending on pipe material, wall thickness and size, and maximum end load reaches 226,860 N at 12 inch / DN300 standard wall. The housing is ductile iron to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12, orange coated as standard, with hot-dip galvanising to ASTM A123 available.
Gasket grade decides the service. Grade EHP EPDM covers -34 to +121 degrees C for water and air services but is not compatible with petroleum; Grade HMT nitrile covers -29 to +82 degrees C for petroleum products and oils; Grade O fluoroelastomer covers -7 to +149 degrees C but is not for hot water or steam. The coupling is FM approved and UL listed at reduced, de-rated pressures, and it is not NSF 61 certified - potable water lines take the Style 807N instead.
When ordering, state the nominal size, the groove specification (Victaulic Original Groove System, publication 25.01), the gasket grade for the medium and temperature, the housing coating, and the bolt material.
