Pressure Measurement

Pressure measurement divides into two sub-categories: mechanical and digital pressure gauges, and electronic pressure sensors and transmitters. Take a gauge where a person reads the value at the plant, and a sensor where a PLC, controller or logger has to receive it; where a point needs both, the intelliGAUGE models put a dial and a 4-20 mA output in one instrument. Either way the specifying questions are the same — measuring range, process connection, wetted material, ingress protection, and whether a diaphragm seal is needed between the medium and the instrument.
